When you make a gift to Writers Theatre, you provide us with the support we need to continue producing thoughtful, engaging programming and connecting communities through our Education outreach programs. Gifts can be made to the area of greatest need, or can be directed to support one of the following three areas:
ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE
Writers Theatre is committed to bringing the most talented actors, directors and designers to our stages to create intimate and engaging theatrical experiences for our audiences.
EDUCATION OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Writers Theatre is committed to extending its mission beyond the stage and into the classroom, providing innovative and academically-rigorous theatre-based education programs to nearly 10,000 Chicago-area students each year.
LITERARY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
Writers Theatre is committed to contributing to the American Theatrical Canon through its unique Literary Development Initiative. This initiative provides an artistic home to nurture the playwrights of tomorrow and dedicates time and resources to the development and production of new plays and musicals, crucial second productions of already-premiered works, and the fostering of future productions across the country.
