Tales for Tots
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Prepare for the return of the Seed Library by creating your own bee bath! Get creative and paint a terracotta pot and then fill it with a mixture of large and small stones and marbles so your bath can provide fresh water to the bees and butterflies that visit your garden. Materials will be provided.
Registration is required and Glencoe residents will have priority if the class fills.
Celebrate the return of the Seed Library and kick off the start of the garden season! Stop by the Reference Desk to browse a selection of free flower, herb, and vegetable seeds. We’ll also have staff members on hand to answer questions and information on upcoming gardening and pollinator-focused programs for all ages. Can’t make it to the kickoff? No worries—the Seed Library will be restocked throughout the spring.
Art historian Jeff Mishur returns to discuss works of several women artists associated with Abstract Expressionism in the late 1940s and 1950s, including Helen Frankenthaler, Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner, Alma Thomas and Elaine de Kooning. Mishur will also address the relationship between American art and Abstract Expressionism after World War II and European modernism between the wars.
