Stephen became Associate Producer & Casting Director at Writers Theatre after a decade of acting, directing, choreographing and teaching. He has acted in equity productions in Chicagoland theatres and regional theatres elsewhere, receiving three Joseph Jefferson Award nominations and a Barrymore Award nomination for acting, as well as a non-equity Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for his work on Dogfight the musical (Bohemian Theatre Ensemble). Chicago credits include A Grand Night for Singing (Mercury Theater); [title of show] (Northlight Theatre); Hot Mikado, Hello Dolly, Meet Me in St. Louis (Drury Lane Theatre); The Most Happy Fella (Ravinia Festival); Cabaret, Little Women, South Pacific, My One and Only, Les Misérables, Shenandoah and other productions (Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire). Regional credits include Little Women (Bristol Riverside Theatre), Cinderella and The Full Monty (North Carolina Theatre), Fiddler on the Roof (West Virginia Public Theatre). National Tour: Altar Boyz. International credits include Jane Austen’s Persuasion at The Royal Winchester Theatre in England and the Shanklin Theatre on The Isle of Wight (Chamber Opera Chicago). Stephen has directed/choreographed at Timberlake Playhouse, The Summer Theatre of New Canaan, Ars Nova in New York and Bohemian Theatre Ensemble in Chicago, where he is an Artistic Associate. He was a faculty member of Northwestern University's National High School Drama Institute for five years. He is a founding member of the Chicago Artists Chorale and a proud graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama.
