Other directoral work includes Kimberly Akimbo (A Red Orchid Theatre), Fatty Arbuckle's Spectacular Musical Revue (Second City Theatricals), Brett Neveu's trilogy of radio plays WRLS #5, Detective Story (Joseph Jefferson Citation - Director, Production, Ensemble), Our Country's Good (Strawdog Theatre Company), Homefront (Stage Left Theatre), Naomi lizuka's Tattoo Girl (Cobalt Ensemble), Some Explicit Polaroids, Stupid Kids (Joseph Jefferson Citation, After Dark Award - Ensemble), Never Swim Alone (Road Works Productions), Santaland Diaries (About Face Theatre /Road Works Productions), Invitation To A March (Shattered Globe Theatre). Shade has also directed short pieces for American Theater Company, Shakespeare's Motley Crew, Seanachai Theatre Company and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Shade has been a teaching artist for Writers Theatre, Northwestern University, DePaul University, Act One Studios, Chicago Academy for the Arts and the National High School Institute, and is an artistic associate of Writers Theatre, Strawdog Theatre and Seanachai.
