At Writers Theatre: A Distinct Society
SARAH SHIPPOBOTHAM (Dialect Coach) is a dialect coach, actor, intimacy consultant, and Professor in Acting and Dialects at the University of Utah. This is her first project with Writers Theatre and her third time working on A Distinct Society and she is grateful for this wonderful opportunity. Sarah trained as a Voice and Dialect Coach at The Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Her Dialect/Voice coaching credits include eighteen seasons with the Shaw Festival (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada), as well as over 30 productions for Pioneer Theatre Company and Salt Lake Acting Company in her home town of Salt Lake City. In 2011/12 Sarah spent 7 months in New Zealand working as a Dialect Coach on The Hobbit films. Her one-person show – Can I Say Yes to That Dress? – will receive its world premiere this September at Salt Lake Acting company.
