Rita returned to Writers Theatre where she served as Resident Lighting Designer having previously designed numerous productions. Chicago credits include Dinner With Friends, Dancing at Lughnasa (Joseph Jefferson nomination), and Wit (Goodman Theatre), King Lear (Joseph Jefferson Award, Chicago Shakespeare Theater), the 25th anniversary production of Bleacher Bums (Royal George Theatre Center), Talley's Folly, The Gamester, Quilters (Joseph Jefferson Nomination), and Lonely Planet (After Dark Award, Northlight Theatre), Hanging Fire, Bluff, and Winter (Victory Gardens Theater), Endgame, and American Buffalo (American Theater Company), and numerous productions for Court Theatre, Apple Tree Theatre, and Chicago Opera Theater. Other favorites include True West (Portland Center Stage), Aristocrats, and Bang the Drum Slowly (Huntington Theatre Company in Boston), A Month in the Country (Arena Stage in Washington D.C.), To Kill a Mockingbird (Alliance Theatre in Atlanta), Betty's Summer Vacation (Pittsburgh Public Theater), The Winter's Tale, and Little Women (Kansas City Repertory Theatre). Ms. Pietraszek serves as Lighting Coordinator for the Annual Latino Theatre Festival at Goodman Theatre and was part of the design team for the Writers Theatre on Tudor Court.
