Ricardo Jimenez
At Writers Theatre: Pearl's Rollin' With the Blues: A Night with Felicia P. Fields
Ricardo is a trumpet player, jazz vocalist, and educator in Chicago. He is a recent graduate of Lawrence University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance. Most recently Ricardo performed with the stage band in Porchlight Theater's production of Blues in the Night, featuring legends such as Felicia P. Fields, Maulty Jewell IV and Donica Lynn. Ricardo has also sung with many groups and artists such as Joe Locke, Tim Garland, Geoffrey Keezer, John Harmon, and Gene Bertoncini. When he is not performing or honing his craft, Mr. Jimenez works for the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic as a program assistant, working on education projects that help underrepresented communities and underserved populations through third-stream jazz. He is co-founder of the "International Masters of Improvisation Workshop" which helps to build cross-cultural bridges amongst Latinx youth in the U.S. and abroad to help students navigate their Latinidad through music and improvisation.
