General FAQ
Is Writers Theatre fully accessible?
- We have fully accessible parking spaces near both of our venues
- WT also provides additional services for people with difficulty seeing, hearing or moving
- Feel free to contact the Box Office to find out about Writers Theatre's accessibility accommodations.
What age is appropriate for Writers Theatre attendance?
It is our policy to grant admittance only to persons 10 years of age or older. Young patrons must be accompanied by an adult. For information about the suitability of individual productions for various ages, contact the Box Office.
I have a conflict for the date I am scheduled to attend. Can I exchange my tickets?
- Season Package Holders are welcome to exchange their tickets (up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled performance). Please note: an upgrade charge may apply if exchanging into a differently priced performance. That charge is due at the time of the exchange. Refunds are not available for any exhances to a lower priced ticket.
- Non-Season Package Holder tickets not refundable, but can be exchanged at least 24 hours before a performance date for a $10.00 fee. Alternatively, tickets are transferrable. If you find that you cannot attend the performance for which you have tickets, you may give friends your physical tickets or have them mention your name at will call.
What if I miss my scheduled performance?
For Season Package Holders who miss their scheduled performance (or need to exchange tickets with less than 24 hours’ notice), the Box Office will facilitate ticket exchanges for missed performances. Unfortunately, Single Ticket purchasers will not be eligible for exchanges and will forfeit the cost of their tickets in the event of a missed performance.
I am not able to attend a production for which I have already purchased tickets. What are my options?
For Season Package Holders, if it is more than 24 hours prior to your originally scheduled performance, you can exchange your tickets for a different day free of charge by calling the Box Office. Alternatively, up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled performance, Season Package Holders may donate tickets back to the theatre for a tax-deductible donation by contacting the Box Office. You will be sent a donation confirmation letter for your tax records.
If you are not a Season Package Holder, you may transfer your tickets to someone else – such as a friend or family member who would come in your place by giving them your physical ticket(s) or having them mention your name at will call on the day of the performance.
How can my nonprofit request donated tickets?
Writers Theatre is pleased to consider all requests for ticket donations.
Ticket donations consist of a voucher redeemable for one pair of tickets to a specific production in our current season. Vouchers are valid only for the production and dates specified and are nontransferable.
While we would like to grant all ticket requests, Writers Theatre receives numerous donation requests each week. In order to assist us in fulfilling your request in a timely fashion, please note the following:
- It is Writers Theatre policy to donate tickets only to organizations with a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax ID number.
- Requests must be made no less than six weeks prior to your event.
- Fill out the Ticket Donation Request Form: Complete the form to submit your request for donated tickets.

Season Package Holder FAQ
What is the difference between each Subscription?
With a Preview, Standard, or Premiere Subscription, you get one ticket to each of our five performances. These Subscriptions offer the convenience of renewing your fixed seats for designated performance dates (e.g. the third Thursday of each run). Enjoy the comfort and benefits you appreciate year after year, including no-fee exchanges and more. We've got you covered.
With our Flex Subscription, YOU CHOOSE when and what shows to attend. You’ll receive reminders throughout the season to give you the opportunity to select your dates, times and seats. Choose from a four-ticket or five-ticket package.
Our new Choose Your Own Season Subscription offers the opportunity to pick and choose dates up front and receive best-available seating for each individual performance.
How do I decide which package is right for me?
Our goal is to provide a variety of ways to join Writers, so that there is an option that is right for everyone. For example: if you are looking for the best savings, a Preview Subscription saves you 40% off our top ticket price. Looking to renew into your favorite seats and the best benefits? Select which Subscription is best for you and your budget. Our Box Office team is also happy to provide recommendations.
Will my performance dates be assigned for me like in my previous fixed subscriptions? If so, how much notice will I receive?
Your dates will be assigned to you if you opt for one of the Classic Subscriptions: Premiere, Standard or Preview. Renewing subscribers can see date assignments at the time of renewal. New subscribers will be assigned seats after June 1.
What are the exchange policies?
We offer exchanges free of charge for Season Package Holders, up to 24 hours before the scheduled performance. If something comes up within that 24 hours, you are welcome to come see the production any time during the run on standby at no additional charge.
Tell me about the advance access and discounted guest tickets that season package holders get.
Before tickets go on sale to the general public for productions and other events, Subscribers will have an exclusive window of time to schedule their tickets, make exchanges, and purchase additional guest tickets for a discounted price. This guest ticket price will always be valid, even after the priority booking period.
Additionally, Writers Theatre Subscribers will receive advance access to special events and other programs. Keep an eye on your e-mail for these exclusive offers.
