Lisa Duncan

Lisa is a Chicago-based director, producer and actress. Her directing credits include two hit productions with Chicago Theater Company: the long-running, London-bound Shakin' The Mess Outta Misery and Joseph Jefferson awarded prouction Do Lord Remember Me. Do Lord... also received BTAA awards for Best Director, Best Actor in an Ensemble, and Best Sound Design. Upcoming productions include Love Talk at Chicago Theater Company and Infants of the Spring for Chernin Center for the Arts. Other credits include Amistad Voices, the critically acclaimed Blakk Love II, (which several BTAA nominations including best adaptation, best play, and best direction), Blakk Love: Storeez of a Darker Hue, "circle of words," Women in Colour and the workshop production of Kimchee & Chitlins. Ms. Duncan is a founding member and artistic director of Chameleon Productions, a Chicago based theatre company where she's produced over twenty stage shows. Among her producing credits are The Maide, Lady House Blues, an innovative adaptation of The Brig, and original productions Do You See What I'm Saying, Wrestlers, Power Pipes, and The House on Mango Street, one of the "best of the Rhino Festival" in Chicago's Wicker Park. As an actress, Ms. Duncan has worked for over 10 years in numerous stage productions, films and commercials. She gives thanks and praise to the Creator and the ancestors.
