Lauren Katz

At Writers Theatre: The Last Match

Lauren is a freelance director, dramaturg and teaching artist. She served as the Artistic Apprentice at Steppenwolf Theatre Company for their 2016/17 Season, and as a fellow in the 2018/19 Directors Inclusion Initiative at Victory Gardens Theater. Recent directing projects include: Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins (Strawdog Theatre), This is a Chair (Haven Theatre) and Women of 4G (Babes with Blades Theatre). Recent assistant directing and dramaturgy credits include The Santaland Diaries (Goodman Theatre), Indecent (Victory Gardens Theater), Caroline, or Change (Firebrand Theatre/Timeline Theatre), Women Laughing Alone with Salad (Theater Wit), The Crucible, Hir (Steppenwolf Theatre), Dada Woof Papa Hot, Bull in a China Shop, Significant Other, Bright Half Life (About Face Theatre) and Apartment 3A (Windy City Playhouse). As a teaching artist, Lauren works with Lookingglass Theatre, Mudlark Theatre and Steppenwolf Theatre.
