Originally from Michigan, Kate moved to Chicago in 2009 after completing her MFA in Theatre Management from Florida State University. As a part of the program, she completed a yearlong residency at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA where she worked directly with the Managing Director, General Manager and Company Manager on overseeing the day to day operations of the theatre. In Summer of 2014, after a three-year hiatus, Kate rejoined the staff of Writers Theatre as the organization’s first Company Manager. Before coming back to Writers Theatre, she held the position of Human Resources and Professional Leadership Programs Coordinator at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where she oversaw the theatre's acclaimed summer internship, 9-month apprenticeship and multicultural fellowship programs. Prior to Steppenwolf she was the Associate Ticket Services Manager here at Writers Theatre and has held positions at Weston Playhouse (VT), the Lincoln Center Festival (NYC) and produced, directed and stage managed many productions with Curious Theatre Branch and Ruckus Theatre in Chicago.
