Kate Buckley

At Writers Theatre: To the Green Fields and Beyond

Kate is a founding member of Chicago Shakespeare Theater and continues her association there as a resident text coach. Ms. Buckley served as the artistic director of Next Theatre for four years and has been a guest lecturer on Shakespeare at universities and arts organizations nationally and abroad. Other directing credits include: Cymbeline (American Players Theatre), The Credeaux Canvas (Madison Repertory Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Chicago Shakespeare Theater, NEA Tour), Much Ado About Nothing (Utah Shakespearean Festival), The Magic of Shakespeare (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), A Few Good Men (Theatre at the Center), The Last NIght of Ballyhoo (Peninsula Players Theatre), Among the Thugs (Goodman Theatre and Next Theatre), Cherry Docs, The Laramie Project, The Incident, Are You Now or Have You Ever Been..., Stonewall Jackson's House, Cardenio, Macbeth, and Henry IV, co-directed with Steve Pickering (Next Theatre). Also Little Women (Kansas City Repertory Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Utah Shakespearean Theatre), and Macbeth (American Players Theatre).
