Greg Allen
At Writers Theatre: The Dance of Death
Greg Allen is the Founding Director of all three nationwide companies of The Neo-Futurists and creator of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes). This is Allen's first time assistant directing a show in over 25 years (since he worked with Bob Falls on Road at the late great Remains Theater in 1987) yet he welcomes a foot in the door of Writers and especially a chance to work with Henry Wishcamper who directed Allen's script Sleeping with the Prince of Darkness: The Imagined Pillow Talk of FBI Agent John O'Neill (Goodman Theatre). Allen's other productions include The Complete Lost Work of Samuel Beckett...,The Strange and Terrible True Tale of Pinocchio As Told by Frankenstein's Monster, and K, his original adaptation of Kafka's The Trial. His production of all nine acts and seven hours of Strange Interlude (Goodman Theatre's Eugene O'Neill Festival) was recently named by Chris Jones in the Chicago Tribune "one of the most confounding, brilliant and generally amazing shows in the entire history of Chicago theater."
