Anton Chekhov
At Writers Theatre: Love & Lunacy, Marriage & Bears, Seagull
Anton Chekhove was born in January 29, 1860, in Taganrog, Russia. He eventually became one of Russia's most cherished storytellers with plays like The Bear, The Wedding, Uncle Vanya, Three Sisters, and The Cherry Orchard. Especially fond of vaudevilles and French farces, he produced some hilarious one-act plays, but his full-length tragedies secured him a place among the greatest dramatists of all time.
