John Henry Roberts is a member of Strawdog Theatre Company, where his credits include Old Times, Cherry Orchard (both directed by Kimberly Senior), Aristocrats (directed by Rick Snyder, Non-Equity Jeff Nomination, Actor in a Supporting Role), Detective Story (directed by Shade Murray, Non-Equity Jeff Award, Ensemble), After Miss Julie and The Night Season (both directed by Elly Green). Other recent credits include: The Little Flower of East Orange (Eclipse Theatre, Non-Equity Jeff Nomination, Actor in a Principal Role), Neverwhere, Miss Holmes (Lifeline Theatre), Diamond Dogs, The Hammer Trinity (The House Theatre), in which he shared the stage with his daughter, the actress and blogger Ada Grey. Film and television: Widows, Chicago PD and Chicago Med (NBC). He’s also the author of the play The Sweeter Option (which premiered at Strawdog Theatre Company, directed by Marti Lyons). He is represented by Paonessa Talent.
