At Writers Theatre: The Importance of Being Earnest
Anita has worked with Chicago Dramatists, Next Theatre Company, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, Stage Left, Organic Theatre Company, Pegasus Theatre Chicago, Collaboraction Theatre, Silk Road Rising and Rasaka Theatre Company—where she was a Founding Director and co-produced The Masrayana (Non-Equity Jeff, Best New Play). New York work includes Playwrights Horizons, Ensemble Studio Theatre and Open Eye. Playwriting includes Gandhi Marg (3Arts Fellowship recipient, Writers Digest Stage Play Contest—2nd Place and selected for Chicago Dramatists Many Voices Project). Anita also co-wrote Thirst with M.E.H. Lewis (Ecodrama Prize, Eugene O’Neill Conference semi-finalist, Women in Arts & Media Collaboration Award (2nd Place) and selected for the International Womens Playwright Conference in Stockholm). Her monologue “Helpline” was produced in Yoni ki Baat by Rasaka, and is archived in Lincoln Center’s South Asian Theatre Project.
