2020/21 Season Updates

At this time, we would like to share our plans for the rest of the season, originally scheduled through July. Although the vaccine roll-out is happening with improved efficiency, due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions it remains impossible for us to safely resume in-person production in our theatres. Unfortunately, that also means we will not be producing Maurice or Pearl's Rollin' with the Blues this season.

What does this mean for you?

We want to offer Season Package Holders a 50% refund on all Subscriptions and Memberships—no questions asked. While we are proud of the work we have been able to share digitally, we acknoledge that you had signed up for live theatre and we were unable to bring that to you this season. Your trust and long-term patronage are vital to our future. Of course, if you would like to convert your refund to a tax-deductible donation, we would be enormously grateful. Simply reply to this email to generously donate 50% of your package.

Here are your options:

1. Receive your 50% refund—Please call the Writers Theatre Box Office at 847-242-6000. The Box Office is open from 12-5pm CST, Monday through Saturday. We ask for your patience as we deal with high call volume over the coming weeks. A phone call is necessary to processs your refund securely by credit card.

2. Donate 50% of your season package—Please email the Writers Theatre Box Office at boxoffice@writerstheatre.org. Please allow two weeks for us to process your donation and email your donation acknowledgement to you. Note that this transaction is irreversible. We appreciate your support!

We hope that the online programming we’ve offered over the last months has given you a taste of all the wonderful narratives we have in store for you when it's safe to produce in-person again. We can’t wait to share The Last Match and Ride Share as we close out this season!

Whether you opt for the 50% refund or choose to donate, please know your continued confidence, flexibility, generosity and understanding have meant a great deal to us.
