On to a New Stage Campaign

The On to a New Stage Campaign is a fundraising campaign with a $34 million goal that is establishing Writers Theatre’s first permanent home in downtown Glencoe and enhance Chicago and the North Shore as a regional and national destination for culture. With commitments exceeding $33 million as of February 1, 2016, there are still iconic naming opportunities available in this one-of-a-kind facility.

An amazing group, including a wide range of Chicagoland’s distinguished philanthropists, has come together to support the project and ensure the future of Writers Theatre.  This group includes: Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols, Alec and Jennifer Litowitz, Gillian and Ellis Goodman, Mary Winton Green and the Green family, Stephanie and Bill Sick, Philip and Janice Beck, Julie and Lawrence Bernstein, Abe and Ida Cooper Foundation, Walter and Karla Goldschmidt Foundation, The Morry and Dolores Kohl Kaplan Fund of the Dolores Kohl Education Foundation, Lois and Harrison Steans, Mary Pat and Andy Studdert, and Richard and Elaine Tinberg.

The estimated $34 million project cost includes: theatre center design and construction; transition costs, including additional theatre space rented during construction; an operating reserve for programming; and a cash reserve to ensure Writers Theatre's financial stability for the future.
