For Vietgone
Hosted by Glencoe Public Library | 320 Park Avenue, Glencoe
Theatre has a long history of being influenced by contemporary music, and Vietgone by Qui Nguyen is no exception. In recent years, there has been a surge of productions that incorporate modern music, from Mamma Mia! to Jersey Boys to Hamilton. In Vietgone, the characters use rap music to express themselves throughout the story, and the rap music genre is itself a respected form of storytelling. At this free From Page to Stage event, join us as we examine the role of popular music in theatre and the theatricality inherent in rap and hip-hop. Seating is limited, RSVP is requested to reserve your seat. RSVP for free today!
Join over 14,000 people who receive behind-the-scenes articles, videos, and photos, information on upcoming productions, ticket deals & more via our email lists.
