Education Overview

Writers’ Theatre continues our dedication to the Word and the Artist by providing education and enrichment programming that:

  • fosters the development of creative expression;
  • creates opportunities for the professional development of theatre artists and audiences;
  • engages audiences in cross-cultural dialogues about their relationship to the play; and
  • informs audiences and empowers communities by providing unique access to the theatrical process.

The Carol Marks Jacobsohn Arts & Education Program at Writers’ Theatre includes Write On!, an artist-in-residency program that brings students and Writers’ Theatre’s artists together to explore classroom studies, and The MLK Project: The Fight For Civil Rights, a touring outreach performance that chronicles a student’s journey through the Civil Rights Movement.

Enrichment programming includes: From Page to Stage, a free, public collaboration between Writers’ Theatre and North Shore libraries that explores the literary and theatrical themes of our stage productions, and By Any Other Word, an advanced symposium on classical plays and adaptations.

Writers’ Theatre also offers exciting internship opportunities in the areas of development, marketing and communications, education and theatre administration.
